Health Tip of the Day

Power's Out -- What Now?

  • Plan ahead and put flashlights where you can find them in the dark.

  • Use flashlights and other battery-generated light sources when walking around the house.

  • Don't carry a lighted candle, or use a candle to look for things in a closet or confined area.

  • Place candles out of the reach of children.

  • Don't put candles in a spot where a pet might knock them over.

  • To avoid an extremely dangerous situation, do not use a candle for light when adding fuel to a lantern, because the candle flame may ignite the vapors.
